The last 5 things I bought

Hey!
I stopped at some places the last few weeks, I bought a variety of stuff I needed (and wanted of course). Among-st other Cotton On was one and did you know they are having a huge winter sale! Up to 50% off on some items! You should go check it out.

Here are the last 5 things I bought.

Winter is not completely over yet. I saw a picture on Pinterest of a girl with a chunky sweater, jean and some vans. I had no difficulty in finding a similar denim and shoes, but the sweater was an obstacle. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this chunky sweater in Cotton On. The next mission was to decide on the color! There was this one and grey. It fits really well and it does not look like it is sizes to big. It is really comfy and super cool. It was marked of from R499 ($40) to R250 ($20). Bargain!

Chunky Sweater
I really like beanies. I got this also from Cotton On. It was R50 ($4) marked down from R129 ($10). It is going to look really cool with my new sweater ;-P.

We do not have a LUSH store where I am living now, so I ordered online. I bought Dorothy Bath Bar, Blue Skies Bath Bar, Twilight Fizz Ball, Pop in the Bath Bar and the little Bubblegrub Bubbleroon ( I have not tried this one yet). I picked up some Popcorn Lip Scrub -it is amazing! And they threw in two samples. I got Dream Cream and Enchanted Eye Cream. I don't have to tell you how much I like Lush or how awesome it is. You can check our their website or pop in store and experience it for yourself.
LUSH
Again, Yankee Candle do not need any introduction. They are simply awesome. I bought myself the Coconut Sea Air candle. It smells amazing! I always pick up their R20 ($1.50) bag of tealight candles. They burn much longer than the small one's you get at Mr Price Home. I was really looking for some sea-flavored candles and picked up Beach Flowers for my oil burner too. Hurry up and get to Yankee Candle! You can order online in South Africa now as well. You have no excuse!

I have not even started this trilogy (written by Stephanie Perkins) yet, but I now own all three books. This is the last one in the trilogy. I heard of these from Allison Anderson. You can check out her post on the first book Anna and the French Kiss

I really needed a tripod for my camera. I started taking photography classes and I really like night photography-for that you need a tripod. My dad and I actually bought this together as it is my birthday gift. He paid lots more -thanks Dad! This is pretty cool as this one can almost go completely flat for that low level shots. I have only used it a few times, but it works great! Original price was R2300 ($182) and we got it for R1700 ($56). Go check out the specs HERE

I am really satisfied with all my purchases. Yankee Candle and Lush NEVER dissapoints. Using my tripod is a breeze and my comfy sweater and beanie-will be weared a.lot. What have you bought recently that you really love? Tell me in the comments below.

Speak to you soon!

ps. It is 7C (44F) today. It is freezing! I hope my clothes don't freeze stiff on the washing line.

Old {and some embarrassing} photo's

Hey guys!
I am feeling nostalgic. I went trough some of my photo albums (yes, I still have 3 of those) from when digital photography was not yet a thing. I found some (cringe worthy) old photos I thought I would like to share with you.

Let's take a trip down memory lane.

Little old me. I think this photo was taken maybe  around my 1ste birthday or just after. Wasn't  I the cutest thing!

This was taken a few years back. It summarizes my personality quite well. My boyfriend (at that time) was busy shaving. I decided I will try it as well. Let me tell you, that shaving cream burned like fire!!

Now, this is one of that cringe worthy pictures. This was taken on a holiday in Oudtshoorn. It is not the camel ride that gets me, it is my choice of fashion. And that hair?!

We look a bit like soldiers, don't we? This was on a December holiday at Yzerfontein on the West Coast. This was my first boyfriend! Haha We had great summer holidays together. Again, the hair?

Cringe worthy. The hat was so fashion this year at the KKNK. I don't know what I was thinking when I put on  my "outfit". I was such a tomboy. But then again, at a national cultural festival everyone is happy and no one cares what you wear. It is a festival.

Matric (Gr 12) 2003.  We 4 girls I named "the 4 cakes of home economics". We had so much fun in this class. I was the one always burning myself or dropping stuff on the floor. This was taken on our "40 days left of school"-day. It brings back fond memories.

I love and hate this pic. I love it because we had fun at this matric (Gr 12) farewell. It was our friend's farewell in 2002. This would be one of the 3 we would attend together. I really cringe at the same time because my hair was a total disaster. I felt 40 years old. I really hated my hairdresser on this day! It was a pixie cut and she succeeded in making me look and feel so uncomfortable!

This was taken in Namibia. I really have a thing for trees and I thought this would make a cool picture. Damn. I look so mad and again I am so boyish! It was a great holiday though.
Do you have any pictures you find cringe worthy or that really brings back good memories?

Speak to you soon!

What's in my bag {Winter edition}

Hello guys!
In May when I did the photo a day challenge {you can check it out  here}, one of the topics were "What's in my bag". I love seeing what people carry around and when I checked my bag it was quite stuffed with crap I never use. My friend left a comment on the picture "Heavy lifting hey". I thought well I be damned. I have a lot of crap I carry around with me and rarely use. I decided to get myself a smaller bag for Winter and fill it with stuff I use a lot and needed, not just nice to have.

This is my bag. It is a cross body, real leather bag and I bought it at Old Khaki.
What is in my bag

When everything is neatly in my bag, this is what it looks like

Cute hey? Now I don't have to search for anything. Quick access.

Let's get into finer details of what I carry around.
What is in my bag
My wallet is from Busby. Cute and small. All my cards fit in it (not in card slots) and my ID.
My diary. A girl needs to plan. This is 2015 diary from CUM Books.
My insulin pen. I cannot live without it. Literally.
Lip ice. It is Labello.  Dry lips is very unflattering.
Lens cleaner for my glasses. There is nothing that irritates me more (when it comes to glasses) if there is a spot/mark on my lens.
 A pen.
My glasses of course to see what I am doing. I got the case from Exclusive Books.
My little emergency bag. This contains girl stuff, pain killers, hand cream and so forth.
My iphone. Duh, cannot leave home without it!
Some gum. I love the cinnamon flavor of Stimorol.
My Kindle. This is the one I have.

Now my trainer cannot say that my bag is heavier than my weights. Hooray for no crap handbags!

What is your have-to-have in your bag? I would love to know. Leave a comment below!

No to resolutions, YES to GOALS - Half way update

Hey guys!

At the beginning of 2015 I said No to resolutions, YES to GOALS I thought it good to give you a half-way update. It is always good to have someone to be accountable to and that is first of all myself and then of course you guys.

How am I doing?

I am halfway with my photography course. I thought we will be completed by end of July, but I did not take into consideration that we are working with the university's timetable. So expected date of completion will be around end of November. I am having a lot of fun and have learned a lot so far. I am not doing to badly (I'd say). I am averaging 70-80%. I have shared some of my work, you can go check out Photography Smotography  and I challenged myself to a Photo a day in May  I have also invested in a new lens (75-300mm), had a huge debate with myself about buying a new tripod. What a flippen mission!!!! At last I found a very nice one and got a discount. So I can safely say, So far so good!

I wanted to complete at least 2 x 10km's (that was when I was still running). I am very proud to say that I have completed 2 and then I stopped. I can not completely explain what happened. I realised when I was running I would always have thoughts like "when is it finished?", "how far do I still have to go?", "why am I doing this?", "this is not fun!", "Ok, I am done" and so forth. It just was not fun anymore. In fact, I started hating it. I don't know if I will start again someday, but for now I am quite content with my Adventure Bootcamp and I am loving it!

I want to clear out my reading shelf by the end of this year. Slowly but surely I am doing it. From 28 books I have 13 books left. Not to bad, but I have to say I did chuck 3 that I will not be reading anymore. The reviews were bad and a friend said it was not the authors best work, so I donated it to the library. I will have to put in some effort though. My birthday is in November and I already have a list of new books I want to read! No pressure!

Now, my weight has always been an issue. I want to loose weight before my 30th birthday in November. We all know that as you get older loosing weight is quite a challenge for some people. For me-always. So, I have 9kg left to loose from 11kg. Yeah for loosing some and "Lets do this" for the next.

I wanted to complete my Unisa Gr3 Exam with a distinction. Guess what I did! I completed it with a distinction! That morning after my exam I wanted to go home and ball my eyes out. It was horrible. I made so many mistakes and just did not feel confident. But, I did it. I couldn't believe it! I practiced so hard and I did it! So, we will see what happens with Gr 4. Theory is needed and that's a story for another day. It's a huge obstacle!

I also said I wanted to empower myself with knowledge by doing at least another course. So, I enrolled in a graphic design course through UCT. I am not doing to bad. The theory part is actually better than the practical side, but it's a nice challenge and I hope this will help with future adventures career wise. In two weeks time I will be done and have a Graphic Design Course certificate. Well done to me.

Spending more time in God's word is ongoing really. You cannot say I reached my goal of spending 3 out of 7 days in His word. It should be every day, continuously. That is what I am striving to every day.

I am very happy to say that I am reaching my goals one at a time and it feels great. I am very positive that I will be able to say by the end of this year that I completed and reached all my goals. I am looking forward!

Here is a question to you. Do you have any goals you are working towards? And looking at my pile of books still to read, what would you suggest I read next? Leave a comment below. I would love to hear from you!
